We at Marina Beach Motel love our local Santa Barbara businesses. That’s why we’ve decided to celebrate them on a weekly basis! Every Wednesday we will write a blog post about one of our local spots and why they’re so important to us and the community. This week, our place of choice is Toma Restaurant & Bar.
Toma is a beautiful sea-side restaurant that offers an abundance of rich, authentic Italian fare. It has been providing high quality Italian food to the Santa Barbara community for more than 80 years and plans on continuing for at least 80 more!
Toma has been run by its owners, Tom and Vicki Dolan for decades. Their goal is to offer culinary excellence as well as excellent customer service to the Santa Barbara community and Santa Barbara tourists.
They’re especially interested in meeting new customers and fostering an interest and love of the Santa Barbara area. Just like our very own Nan, here at Marina Beach Motel!
Toma is known for its carefully selected wine list that any wine connoisseur would be happy to choose from. It has a rare and diverse set of wines, including many local wines from local Santa Barbara vineyards and wineries. This also adds to Toma’s reputation as a great date destination. Its excellent wines and intimate atmosphere make it a go-to for couple dining out.
Toma is also known for its incredible head chef, Chef Nat Ely. His hand-crafted dishes are made with locally grown and sourced ingredients that help local business and small-scale farmers. Ely is known for his incredibly intricate and flavorful, yet fully authentic Italian dishes. He is the star of the Toma kitchen!
