Every Wednesday we share our featured spot of the week with you in order to highlight all that Santa Barbara has to offer and to give you a guide for where to go while you’re here. This week, we’re featuring a place that is an obvious must-see for everyone who visits Santa Barbara: Stearns Wharf. It’s a no-brainer to visit if you’ve ever been to Santa Barbara before, but for those who have not, here’s why should go.
Stearns Wharf is a deep-water pier on the Santa Barbara coast that’s been around for over 140 years. A number of natural disasters have hit this historic spot over the years, but it keeps being bouncing back! After years of being nearly destoryed and rebuilt again and again, it’s still one of the most popular locations in Santa Barbara.
The wharf was originally built exclusively for California’s imports and exports, but its pier is now home to dozens of restaurants and boutiques where visitors can dine and purchase souvenirs. It’s a great place to enjoy the local color and experience Santa Barbara in all of its glory.
There’s really no better way to spend your day than wandering in and out of the shops there and then grabbing dinner or drinks while looking out on the beautiful Pacific Ocean. SO make sure to add Stearns Wharf to your itinerary during your trip to Santa Barbara. And make sure to book your stay at Marina Beach Motel. We’re only 37 steps from the beach!
