Next week, come check out the Santa Barbara Harbor & Seafood Festival! Although it can be shortened to the Santa Barbara Harbor Festival, there is no shortage of fun and fish for the whole family! Read on to learn more about the Santa Barbara Harbor Festival and how to go!
Santa Barbara Harbor
Santa Barbara Harbor has unreal views, great restaurants and tons of activities to enjoy. Walking down the waterfront allows you to get involved with sailing, deep sea fishing, whale watching, and so much more. You can even grab some souvenirs from the boardwalk or the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. And yes, the museum also provides some educational content along with the souvenirs! The harbor also hosts a variety of events around the year, and the Santa Barbara Harbor Festival is no different. Other events include wine tastings, yacht expeditions, and even a Christmas light show!
What can I expect from the Festival?
Did you know that the Santa Barbara Harbor lands over 10 million pounds of seafood each year? This is approximately equal to $30 million per year to Santa Barbara’s local economy. That is a reason to celebrate! At the festival, there will be fresh seafood ranging from lobster to clam chowder and even sea urchins. Boating activities and live music will be happening all day. Tour a fire boat, research vessel or US Coast Guard Cutter. Vendors are also present, with face painting, custom artwork, clothes and more. In fact, over 40 vendors will be present on Saturday, October 15th!
