Old Spanish Days is Less Than One Month Away!

One of Santa Barbara’s biggest festivals, Old Spanish Days, is almost here! The festival is less than one month away and it is Santa Barbara’s premier festival–or fiesta!

About Old Spanish Days

Old Spanish Days Fiesta is an annual eight-day long festival in early August. This festival has been going on for 90 years, and it is one of the most anticipated events in Santa Barbara.

This festival–or fiesta–celebrates the cultural heritage of California and fosters pride in community through these festivities.

When is the Fiesta?

This 2019 festival runs from July 31 – August 4

What can I do at the Festival?

Speaking of events, what kind of events can you find at Old Spanish Days? Well, the festival spans 5 full days and is packed full of tons of fun activities and events.

While the festival officially begins on July 31, the first event is on July 28! The Recepción del Presidente kicks off Fiesta week with an evening outdoors! Enjoy a delicious Mexican buffet, performances by incredible artists, and more. Dance under the stars and celebrate all those who worked so hard to make this festival possible, especially La Presidenta Barbara Caroll and her family and Fiesta family.

The Santa Barbara Mission will be offering tours during Old Spanish Days

During the fiesta, each day will have multiple events and activities. You can take tours of the Santa Barbara Mission, enjoy plenty of food, join in the fun of the Carnival, and more!

There are plenty of events to keep you busy throughout the festival. For more information on each one, you’ll want to check out the events listing here.

History Happy Hour

History Happy Hour is a series that teaches about aspects of Santa Barbara’s history over happy hour. On July 24th, the History Happy Hour is about Old Spanish Days, so you can learn more about the history of this festival while enjoying happy hour.
