It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for us to present a new featured spot of the week here at Marina Beach Motel! We do this to give you some ideas for places to visit while you’re here and to generate traffic at cool local spots. This week we’re featuring a historic landmark that is still used for its original purpose: the Santa Barbara Courthouse.
Visiting a county courthouse probably isn’t the first thing you’d think to do when visiting a new city, but we promise this is a place worth seeing. The Santa Barbara Courthouse has been located on that same plot since 1850. The current building was built in 1926 following an earthquake that destroyed the original structure.
We recommend getting a guided tour of the courthouse to fully appreciate its unique architecture as well as its rich history. People especially love going up in the building’s tower to get a 360 degree view of the surrounding Santa Barbara scenery.
This spot is really a must-see if you’re at all interested in Santa Barbara history or if you just want to get a cool view of the area from the tower. Either way, you’re sure to enjoy a visit to the Santa Barbara Courthouse.
And when you’ve taken in all of the history there, come relax at Marina Beach Motel. At just 37 steps from the beach, we’re the perfect place to stay during your visit here!
