Hot Springs Canyon
Hot Springs Canyon Trail is a 3.7 mile loop trail about 15 minutes from Santa Barbara. This moderate trail is perfect for a hike through nature and is open year-round. While this trail isn’t easy, the reward of seeing the hot springs makes the trek worth it! Plus, it’s dog friendly.
Gaviota hot springs
Another trail near Santa Barbara, the Gaviota Hot Springs Trail is longer than Hot Springs Canyon at 6.6 miles. This trail is rated as difficult, but dedicated hikers who commit to the incline on the way out will be able to experience the incredible hot springs. And as a bonus–the way back is all downhill!
Little Caliente Hot Spring
The Little Caliente Hot Spring Trail starts at Camino Cielo and is 12.9 miles out and back. Here, you can hike year-round and soak in the springs after the long hike! You can also take some time on the trail to bird watch, which this trail is also known for. It’s also dog friendly, so your pup can explore as well (as long as they are kept on a leash).
Ecotopia hot springs
About an hour outside Santa Barbara, these springs are worth the drive! Located in Ojai, the Ecotopia hot springs are a natural spring in the beautiful Ojai Valley. And while you’re here, you can also check out the nearby sustainable gardens the community works to maintain.
