Every May, Downtown Santa Barbara hosts the Blues Cruise BBQ, a fun family event that happens in tandem with the State Street Nationals Car Show that same weekend. It’s going to be an exciting weekend in Santa Barbara, taking place May 16-17th this year. Here’s what you have to look forward to!
The event begins at 5PM on Saturday, May 16th and will feature delicious BBQ dinners as well as live music from the Blues Hall of Fame band, Lookin’ For Trouble, as well as family entertainment. The BBQ meals will include delicious Santa Maria style tri-tips and juicy BBQ chicken. Better still, all of the proceeds for this event will go toward funding for the annual Downtown Holiday Parade.
The antique and classic cars from the State Street Nationals Car Show will cruise along State Street and then end up at the De La Guerra Plaza at 6PM where you can see them up close.
At 7PM, Lookin’ For Trouble will begin their blues music set at Casa de la Guerra, where beer and wine will be served until 10PM. They’re a talented group of musicians known to pack the house, so make sure you get in early.
And finally, if you didn’t get your fill of cool cars on Saturday, you can walk along State Street from 9AM-4PM on Sunday to admire the classic automobiles at the car show.
