Santa Barbara International Film Festival 2018

It’s that time of year again! Film lovers descend upon the city for SBIFF to view more than 200 different films and participate in diverse panels and lectures. Stop searching for places to stay and reserve your room at the Marina Beach Motel now. We’re just a few days and a couple blocks away from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Here’s what we’re most looking forward to.

While Santa Barbara boasts year-round attractions, SBIFF brings mid-winter tourists from all over.

Premiere of Emilio Estevez’s The Public

The film will premiere on Wednesday, January 31, at the festival. The ensemble cast features Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater, Gabrielle Union, and Jena Malone. Estevez’s screenplay portrays one freezing night at a homeless shelter in Cincinnati.

Timely conversations for industry panels

While most of SBIFF’s “industry panels” will concern the nuts and bolts of film, we’d urge you to attend the “Creative Forces: Women in the Business” conversation.

Super Silent Sunday free screenings

There’s not much better than a free movie. Catch a classic with live organ accompaniment. Then take the afternoon off and relax with a little low-key tourism.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing at SBIFF and in 2018?
