September is a very happening month for Santa Barbara! We’re closing out peak produce season, the weather is beautiful, and tourists are slowing their roll — our calendars are full of exciting, unusual events.
You can pickle that! Eat fermented foods and not-fermented foods (and beverages!), learn about the process of fermentation, and enjoy live music and events. This health-oriented festival is great for the whole family. Let’s get cultured. Find more information here.
While many of the early-September dates are already sold out, HEAT is constantly offering unique culinary classes. Just a little sample of their menu: they’re teaching tapas, ramen, mimosa brunch, and gnocchi. Get the real California experience, with a little flavor of fall. We’re just excited to eat, to be honest with you. Check out their calendar.
Visit the Karpeles Manuscript Library. Ongoing.
There is no better time to hole up in a library than when the weather’s getting chilly. They put on plenty of great events, too. For example: they’re giving “Women & Minorities In The Film Industry” on September 23. If you’re a history buff, this is a place for your bucket list. Don’t forget to stop by Stearns Wharf while you’re there. You can keep up with this branch of the Karpeles here.
There is so much to do in Santa Barbara. Whether it’s eating, drinking, exploring — we’re there
